276 mg, 8 Ingredients: What the Slim Metrix Blend Can and Cannot Hold

Quick answer

One Slim Metrix capsule lists zinc 5.5 mg, chromium 50 mcg and a 276 mg proprietary blend of eight ingredients. The blend prints no single amounts. Because blends list heaviest first, each ingredient has a ceiling: 276 divided by its place. Berberine is fourth, so at most about 69 mg.

At a glance

Key facts

  • Ten ingredients in all: two with printed amounts, eight sharing one 276 mg blend.
  • Serving size is 1 capsule, with 30 servings in a bottle, 0 calories and under 1 g of carbohydrate.
  • Blend ingredients are listed from heaviest to lightest, which sets a ceiling for each one.
  • Alpha-lipoic acid is first and banaba is last.
  • Our ceilings are arithmetic from the label, not lab results, and the real amounts are probably lower.
  • Caffeine, capsaicin and single blend amounts are not published.
  • The brand's ingredient graphic shows six names. The label lists ten.

The panel

What does the Slim Metrix Supplement Facts panel print?

The panel is short. One capsule is the serving, and a bottle holds 30 servings. It shows 0 calories and under 1 g of carbohydrate. Two minerals get their own lines: zinc as zinc gluconate at 5.5 mg, and chromium as chromium picolinate at 0.05 mg. Then comes a single line, Proprietary Blend, at 276 mg.

Eight names sit under that line, in this order: alpha-lipoic acid, green tea leaf extract, milk thistle seed extract, berberine HCl from Berberis aristata root, resveratrol from Polygonum cuspidatum root, cayenne fruit, Korean ginseng aerial extract and banaba leaf extract. The other ingredients are hypromellose (the vegetable capsule), microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide.

The label gives no caution text, no storage line and no maker in the images supplied to us. Check the bottle you receive for each.

The rule

How does label order set a ceiling for each ingredient?

A proprietary blend shows only its total weight. But FDA's labeling guide says the ingredients must be listed from heaviest to lightest (FDA, Labeling guide ch. IV). That order is a clue. The ingredient in place k cannot weigh more than the whole blend divided by k, because every ingredient before it weighs at least as much.

For place 4, the math is 276 divided by 4, which is 69. For place 8 it is 276 divided by 8, which is about 35. The average share is also about 35 mg. A ceiling is not an amount. Real amounts are probably lower, because the first ingredients take the lion's share.

What this is not

These figures are our own arithmetic. They are not a lab test, and they do not say what any capsule contains.

The numbers

What is the most each of the 8 blend ingredients can weigh?

Most each blend ingredient could weigh in one capsule, from label order. Our arithmetic, not a lab result.
PlaceIngredientMost per capsuleNote
1Alpha-lipoic acid276 mg (at least about 35 mg)Largest share
2Green tea leaf extract138 mgAt most about 110 mg catechins and 69 mg EGCG
3Milk thistle seed extract92 mgAt most about 74 mg silymarin
4Berberine HClabout 69 mg97% berberine
5Resveratrolabout 55 mgExtract ratio 200:1 is not a dose
6Cayenne fruit46 mg40,000 H.U. is a heat rating
7Korean ginseng aerial extractabout 39 mg8% ginsenosides
8Banaba leaf extractabout 35 mg2% corosolic acid, at most about 0.69 mg

Add the ceilings and you will pass 276 mg, which is the point: they cannot all be true at once. Only the order is real.

The big one

Why does the berberine ceiling matter most?

Berberine is the ingredient most people search for. By label order, one capsule holds at most about 69 mg. NCCIH says berberine's weight effects were seen mainly above 1 gram a day, and the evidence is not conclusive (NCCIH, Berberine and weight loss). At its ceiling the capsule holds about 7% of that 1 gram.

Trials in a 2025 review used 300 to 1,500 mg a day (Liu et al., Front Pharmacol 2025), and glucose trials mostly used 0.9 to 1.5 g in adults with type 2 diabetes (Xie et al., Front Pharmacol 2022). So the dose gap is wide. The same gap shows for the others. Alpha-lipoic acid at its 276 mg ceiling is about 15% of the 1,800 mg used in one cited trial (MSKCC, Alpha-lipoic acid). Green tea catechins at their ceiling of about 110 mg compare with 1,315 mg a day in a 12-month trial that raised liver enzymes (NIH ODS, Weight-loss supplements).

None of this says the capsule is unsafe or useless. It says the label does not let you check, and the studied doses are not reachable with this blend.

The two exact lines

What do the zinc and chromium lines tell you?

These are the two lines you can check. Zinc at 5.5 mg is 50% of the 11 mg Daily Value, and the adult upper limit is 40 mg a day from all sources (NIH ODS, Zinc). Chromium at 0.05 mg is 50 mcg. The panel prints 41.67% DV, which matches 50 divided by 120. Today's Daily Value is 35 mcg, so 50 mcg is about 143% (NIH ODS, Chromium).

So the chromium percentage looks out of date, while the amount itself is clear. No upper limit has been set for chromium. If you take a multivitamin, add its zinc and chromium to these before you decide.

Gaps

What is missing from the Slim Metrix label?

  • Single amounts for any of the eight blend ingredients: not published.
  • A caffeine amount, even though green tea naturally contains caffeine (NCCIH, Green tea): not published.
  • A capsaicin amount for the cayenne: not published.
  • A named maker, a lab report or a best-by date in the supplied images: not shown.
  • A caution line for pregnancy or medicines in the supplied images: not shown.

The seller gives a lot reference, SLI-26/SL-2954, and a CoA reference, SLI-2954-26-SL. These are seller reference codes. No lab, test date or result comes with them, so they are not lab proof.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a proprietary blend on a supplement label?

It is a group of ingredients that share one total weight. FDA rules require them in order from heaviest to lightest but not their single amounts (FDA, Labeling guide ch. IV). On Slim Metrix, eight ingredients share 276 mg.

How much berberine is in one Slim Metrix capsule?

The label does not say. Berberine is fourth in a 276 mg blend, so it can weigh at most about 69 mg. The real amount is probably lower, since alpha-lipoic acid, green tea and milk thistle sit above it.

Is the 41.67% chromium figure on the label a mistake?

It looks outdated. The figure matches 50 mcg divided by 120. Today's Daily Value is 35 mcg, which makes 50 mcg about 143% (NIH ODS, Chromium). The amount is unchanged; only the percentage is off.

Does the Slim Metrix label list ten ingredients or six?

Ten. Zinc and chromium have printed amounts, and eight more share the 276 mg blend. The brand's ingredient graphic shows only six names, so trust the Supplement Facts panel on the bottle.

Does Slim Metrix contain probiotics?

No probiotic is listed on the label. The ten ingredients are zinc, chromium, alpha-lipoic acid, green tea extract, milk thistle, berberine, resveratrol, cayenne, Korean ginseng and banaba.

Are the lot and CoA codes lab proof?

No. Lot SLI-26/SL-2954 and CoA reference SLI-2954-26-SL are seller reference codes. No lab name, test date or result is published with them. You can ask the seller for the full document.

Bottom line

Our view

The label is honest in a narrow way. It names all ten ingredients, prints two exact amounts and shows the blend total. That is more than some products do. But a blend that hides eight amounts asks you to trust the maker, and the maker is not named in the images we have.

Our view is simple. Read the order, not the marketing tiles. Treat the ceilings as a guide to how small the doses may be. Do not expect the studied doses of berberine, green tea or alpha-lipoic acid from one capsule. If you want those doses, a single-ingredient product with a printed amount is a clearer tool, after you talk with your doctor.

Whatever you pick, take no more than the one capsule a day on the label. Skip it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, since berberine may be unsafe then. See the full Supplement Facts page and the ingredients overview for every line.
