Does Slim Metrix Work? 0 Trials, 69 mg of Berberine and a 60-Day Test
Nobody knows whether Slim Metrix works, because no trial of the formula has been published. Its ingredients gave small results in studies, about 1 kg at best for chromium or green tea, and at doses one capsule cannot reach. Berberine is at most about 69 mg here. Habits remain the base of weight loss.

At a glance
Key facts
- Slim Metrix is a dietary supplement sold for weight management and metabolic support. No published trial tests it.
- Berberine is at most about 69 mg per capsule by label order. NCCIH says weight effects were seen mainly above 1 gram a day.
- Chromium trials found about 0.5 to 1.1 kg more loss than placebo. NIH calls it of little clinical meaning.
- Green tea extract gave about 0.95 kg overall, and no difference in the six studies run outside Japan.
- Resveratrol showed no weight effect across 40 trials with 2,551 people.
- The sales page mentions shifts in 7 to 14 days. No study supports that timeline.
- CDC says about 1 to 2 pounds a week is the pace more likely to last.

Test it fairly if you try itA 2-bottle pack covers the full 60-day window, which is long enough for a fair weekly check.

The short answer
Does Slim Metrix really work for weight loss?
The honest answer is that no one can say. A trial would have to give people the capsule or a dummy pill and then compare them. None has been published for Slim Metrix. So every promise about it, ours included, rests on indirect evidence from single ingredients.
That indirect evidence is weak. NCCIH says none of the supplements studied for weight control has been shown to work, and green tea extracts are on that list (NCCIH, Weight control). The FTC adds that health claims need human trials of the same dose and formula (FTC, Health Products Guidance). Slim Metrix has neither.
This is not the same as saying it does nothing. It means any effect is unmeasured, and probably small.
The pitch
What does the Slim Metrix sales page claim?
The page names five supports and a timeline, all in the seller's wording. Slim Metrix is a capsule sold for weight management and metabolic support, and its sales page title calls it Thermogenic Fat-Burning Capsules. The label itself makes no such claim.
- "Helps support your body's natural fat-metabolism pathways"
- "Helps maintain healthy blood-sugar already within normal range"
- "Supports balanced appetite and reduced cravings"
- "Promotes steady all-day energy without the crash"
- "Metabolic Boost"
- "Noticeable shifts" in 7 to 14 days and "visible changes" at 60 to 90 days
Words like "supports" and "helps maintain" are structure and function language. FDA lets supplements use it with a disclaimer, but FDA does not review the evidence first (FDA, Supplement Q&A).
Claim by claim
What does the evidence say behind each claim?
| Claim | Ingredient behind it | What studies found | Fair rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fat metabolism | Green tea extract, cayenne | Green tea about 0.95 kg more loss, none outside Japan (NIH ODS, Weight-loss supplements); capsaicin's effect is small (MSKCC, Cayenne) | Weak |
| Blood sugar in normal range | Berberine, chromium, banaba | Berberine lowered glucose in type 2 diabetes at 0.9 to 1.5 g a day (Xie et al., Front Pharmacol 2022) | Not shown at this dose |
| Appetite and cravings | Chromium, cayenne | One preliminary chromium study (NIH ODS, Chromium); capsaicin trimmed about 74 calories a meal without changing weight | Weak |
| Steady energy | Ginseng, green tea | Ginseng may give a small benefit for fatigue (NCCIH, Asian ginseng); no caffeine amount printed | Unclear |
| Metabolic Boost | None named | No study of the formula | Not published |
Does Slim Metrix reduce appetite? The sales page says it supports balanced appetite, but that has not been tested in people taking this product. The chromium craving data come from a single preliminary study, and the capsaicin result did not change body weight over 12 weeks at 4 mg a day.
Dose gap
How far is one capsule from the doses that were studied?
Far. The table below sets the most each ingredient could weigh in one capsule against a dose used in research.
| Ingredient | In one capsule | Studied dose | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Berberine | At most about 69 mg | 1,000 mg a day, where weight effects were seen mainly above | 6.9% |
| Alpha-lipoic acid | At most 276 mg | 1,800 mg a day in one cited trial | 15% |
| Green tea catechins | At most about 110 mg | 1,315 mg a day in a 12-month trial | 8.4% |
| Chromium | 50 mcg, printed | 1,000 mcg a day in a glucose trial | 5.0% |
Bigger doses bring bigger risks too. The 1,315 mg catechin trial raised liver enzymes (NIH ODS, Weight-loss supplements). So the gap cuts both ways: less chance of a studied effect, and less chance of studied harm. Neither side is proven for this capsule.
Speed
How long does Slim Metrix take to work?
No one has measured it. The sales page's 7 to 14 days and 60 to 90 days are marketing phrases. For comparison, berberine trials in a 2025 review ran 84 to 140 days at gram-range doses (Liu et al., Front Pharmacol 2025). Prescription weight medicines with strong trials are judged over a year (NIDDK, Weight medicines).
A capsule with no trial cannot honestly promise a two-week change. Day-to-day swings of a pound or two are mostly water. Compare weekly readings, not single days.
What moves it
What actually moves the scale?
Food, movement, sleep and stress. CDC says people who lose about 1 to 2 pounds a week are more likely to keep it off (CDC, Losing weight). Its activity guide asks adults for 150 minutes of moderate activity a week, plus muscle work on 2 days (CDC, Adult activity). Even a 5% loss, about 10 pounds for a 200-pound person, can help blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar.
If your BMI is 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition, ask your doctor about medical options. Adults on FDA-approved weight medicines plus a lifestyle program lost 3% to 12% more of their starting weight at one year than with lifestyle alone (NIDDK, Weight medicines).
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does Slim Metrix work?
There is no proof either way, because no trial of the formula has been published. Its ingredients gave small results at full research doses, and one capsule holds far less than those doses.
Does Slim Metrix work for men?
The label is written for adults and sets no sex-specific dose. No study of the formula in men or women has been published, so there is no result to quote for either group.
Does Slim Metrix reduce appetite?
The sales page says it supports balanced appetite, but that has not been tested. Chromium's craving data come from one preliminary study (NIH ODS, Chromium), and capsaicin did not change body weight in a 12-week trial.
Is Slim Metrix a weight management supplement?
It is sold as one. It is a dietary supplement in capsules, not a weight-loss drug and not a GLP-1 medicine. No supplement has been shown to replace eating, activity and sleep changes.
How does Slim Metrix work?
The idea is a little of many things: two minerals plus eight plant and antioxidant ingredients. Nobody has measured whether the capsule does any of the things the sales page lists.
Is Slim Metrix worth it?
That depends on what you expect. For about $1.63 to $2.63 a day you get a full label and a 60-day refund window, not a tested result. Judge it by your own weekly notes before day 60.
Bottom line
Our view
We do not say Slim Metrix fails. We say it is unproven, and its best-known ingredient is far below the dose where studies saw an effect. A fair person would try it, if at all, as a small extra, with low expectations and a decision date.
The best move is to change the base first: one food change, one activity goal, a steady bedtime. Add the capsule only if you want to, and track it as a small test with weekly weigh-ins and notes. If you see little by day 45, use the refund window.
Skip it if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or under 18. Ask a doctor first if you take diabetes medicine, cyclosporine, a blood thinner, levothyroxine or a weight-loss medicine. Our claims and evidence page and results timeline give more.
